1982
In the early 80s, performance horses in the UK were struggling with respiratory issues caused by dust spores found commonly found in hay. Our founder, Robert Barclay, worked in the agricultural machinery industry and posed the question: “why can’t you feed horses haylage from tower silos?”
Discussing this challenge with a local vet, Robert discovered a company based in Devon developing high quality haylage in handy small bales. Soon after, we became regional producers for the HorseHage brand for the South East of England.
1996
From the success of HorseHage, we built a fibre feed mill and added the Mollichaff range of high fibre chaffs to complement the HorseHage products.

1999
In order to expand our range of chaffs, we started importing dried Lucerne (Alfalfa) from Denmark with the aim of improving the nutritional value of the feed. At this point, we also started contract manufacturing fibre feeds.
2002
As the volume of dried forages expanded, it became clear that by producing the dried forages ourselves, we would be able to improve the quality and range of our products. By lucky coincidence, the owner of Agri-Dry in Oxfordshire was looking to retire and we were soon moving and installing the drying plant. We were then able to grow and manage all of our forage crops, vital to maintain our quality standards.

2019-Present
Continued growth in volume and product range was stretching both our plant capacity and transport links. The construction of a new purpose-built site and fibre feed mill at Tile Kiln Farm, Little Hadham alleviated these challenges and allowed for further growth. All transport and office functions now operate from this new site which is also central to our farming operations.
