Southeast England offers excellent conditions for growing our crops; we aim to grow all our forages within a 15-mile radius of our drying facility. We have complete control of crop growing and processing, from planting the seeds through to harvesting which is carried out by our own experienced operators and specialist machinery.  Our crops are UFAS, FEMAS and BETA NOPS accredited and quality controlled in-house, so you have peace of mind.

Immediately after harvesting, crops are taken to our dehydration plant where we have 2 drum dryers and, for more delicate drying, a belt dryer. The crop is dried, then quickly cooled and baled. This drying process means the crop retains the aroma and nutritional value of the fresh forage. Find out more on our Contract Drying page.

We produce wire tied square 450kg bales for manufacturers to break down and process, or small plastic wrapped 12.5kg – 20kg bales, palletised ready to be transported. Find out more about our Contract Manufacturing capabilities here.

We run a fleet of articulated lorries for regional/national deliveries and have the ability to organise worldwide transport if required.

Ryegrass

Ryegrass is one of the most common forage grasses for horses due to its quality nutrient specification and high digestibility. Its higher protein and energy levels makes it ideal for horses in hard work.

Fescue

Fescue is an alternative to ryegrass with many of the same attributes including being very digestible and nutrient dense. What sets it apart is being more drought and heat tolerant.

Timothy

Timothy is naturally lower in protein and sugar and higher in fibre than most other grasses. It is highly palatable and suitable for most horses, including good doers, and is also popular for feeding small herbivores such as rabbits, with dental and digestive benefits.

Alfalfa

Also known as Lucerne, Alfalfa is a legume and is a good source of digestible fibre, providing slow-release energy. It is high in protein and calcium, while also being low in sugar.

Sainfoin

Sainfoin is also a legume that is extremely palatable and considered to be one of the healthiest forage plants available, providing quality protein, high fibre and low sugar forage.

Cocksfoot

Cocksfoot is a tall, perennial grass with stout one-sided clumped flower/seed heads whose resemblance to a cock’s foot gives it its name. With a high fibre content, it offers an alternative to Ryegrass.
